Oh Gosh! I'm stoked!

I am declaring my undying love for this book!
I am floating on cloud nine as of now because my pretty little mind cannot wholly process the sweetness and perfection of LIAM JAMES.
He’s over the top perfect! I can’t reach him. Haha!
He deserves all the fangirling in the world.

Anyway, of course I don’t like my entire review to be just about gushing over Liam. I love it not just because of him. I love it because I’m a sucker for this kind of story.

Amber and her brother, Jake were physically and mentally abused by their father ever since they were children. But the abuse took its toll when father attempted to rape Amber. She’s became an emotional wreck despite the fact that their father was kicked out of the house. Now, years later, that horrible event still haunts her dreams. Through it all, she’s found strength and protection from her brother and his best friend, Liam.

OMG, let's talk about Liam!

 

 He has been sneaking inside her room since she was eight years old. Whenever he sees her crying, he’d go to her, comfort her, just to make her feel better. Oh my my my! I’d go melting into a pile of goo because of how sweet he is. He may be mistaken as a man-whore who sleeps with anyone that moves. But no! He’s always been in love with Amber. Imagine a guy who’s been in love with a girl for 12 years but can’t do anything about it because of an overprotective brother.

I hated him at first because of his a-hole streak. But then as the story progresses you’ll have no choice but to love him. I love the other characters as well. They were able to thwart every tough situation they face and that’s what I love!

The ending is everything I am hoping for. It’s perfect and amazing. Especially, the last chapter. It was soooo beautiful and definitely a HEA.

Liam is incredible. I don’t think there’s a real guy as perfect as he is.
 

“She was the only thing I needed. If everything else went away tomorrow, the big house, all the cars, the money, I wouldn't care. As long as I still got to hold her every night, I would still be the luckiest guy in the world.”

Taking Chances by Molly McAdams

 

 I'm not in the mood for an in depth review right now. I'm so devastated. My heart is crushed to its core. A beautiful story and a lovely ending but I can't seem to accept the bittersweet truth of it all.

 Because I was shocked... utterly shocked! The twist is an uber blow, I swear I didn't see it coming.

 So allow me to show you how I felt.. I was like this...

I'm glad Brandon and Harper have their happy ending... But is it so wrong to wish one for Chase?

 I'm sorry but all I have right now is the sheer disappointment for the story. It has great potential, only if it was told in a different way. And I'm tired of hearing people say that "It's the reality of life, somehow we have to deal with it." Grrrrrr! I want to tell them can't you see how it made me feel? Now would you say that to yourself if you are in Harper's place? That's why I think the plot is unforgivable. If you want to torture yourself, go read it. But if you want to save yourself from the all the trouble, I'd support you all the way. I don't want to give away the story but I just want to make you guys think first before reading this. It will be tough if you go in blind.

If you're reading this I want to tell you in advance that the love interest, the gorgeous, hot, sweet, loving Chase was killed! I'm sorry but I'm just frigging mad I even bothered reading this. It would've been better if the author didn't make the readers love Chase, if she wrote it in such a way that you would hate him. But it wasn't that way! She made Chase's character seem lovable and not to mention there was too much effort in his character development. So I thought he was the one! And just when you start loving and swooning over him, something happens, then BAM! Everything goes down the drain. Your hopes, dreams, expectation comes tumbling down. It was an absurd effort to stir the reader's emotion but all it does was make you miserable. 

 I was so happy about how their love story turns out. I was like "Wow! They're getting married soon and they're going to have a baby! So excited!" But then 50% through the book, he died in a freaking ACCIDENT! God. His death wasn't even given enough justice! One minute they were having an emotional fight, then he died the next page! To tell the truth I was asking myself, "Is this real?!" Because killing the love interest is unbelievable! Preposterous! Yup Brandon is still there but how about the guy who blew me away the first time I read about him??! How can the characters, especially Harper, move on that fast?! How can she be with Brandon as if nothing happened?! 

 Again, I apologize for the major ranting or shall I say outburst. I just need to vent this. 

 I heard the author will write the story in Chase's POV.. Well...

 There's no way I'm going to break my heart again. I don't want to torture myself any further than I already have.

I've Got Your Number by Sophie Kinsella

Full five stars with hearts and kisses to Sophie Kinsella for coming up with a new fantastic novel! This and "Can You Keep A Secret?" are probably my favorite Kinsella novels. Just like any other novel from the author, it has a simple but hilariously realistic plot, and a quirky lovable heroine, Poppy. I mean who gets into so much trouble just by losing an engagement ring? Well I'm not just talking about some it's-no-big-deal-we-can-replace-it-ring, it's the bloody family heirloom of her future husband! So how will she explain it to her fiancé? Or better yet to her in-laws who clearly do not approve of the marriage. But what you're all probably wondering is how Sam fits into the picture... Hmm don't want to spoil anything, it's for you to find out and for me to....*insert widest grin*...

 Anyway I recommend this to all Sophie Kinsella fans out there. I laughed, cried( well almost), swooned and I bet you'd also feel the same way. You'll love it especially the ending, it's sweet and priceless! I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a sequel!! Puh lease!!.. I want more of Sam and Poppy!

Fifty Shades of Grey by E.L. James

ONE WORD to describe this book: UGH!..

MY REVIEW:

I was leisurely walking inside a books store when my eyes suddenly caught the list top ten fiction for the month. This book made it to the top spot. Shocker.

I thought. “WHY?!!”


Then it all comes back to me.. The feeling I had when reading this. The Red Room of Pain. The Hand Cuffs. Whip. Ugh! The unspeakable things that I never want to relive. But that would have been impossible since this book has been making a huge buzz all over the world. Yup. In fact, it was recently auctioned for movie rights, and all the bigshot productions bid for the movie adaptation. 

CURIOSITY.That’s the reason why I decided to read it. But curiosity killed the cat, right? I read this without reading one of the reviews from my friends. Thinking that my judgment would be clouded if I ever consult their reviews before I even start this one. I never consulted the synopsis! So it will probably be the understatement of the century if I say I was shocked by how the story turned out. It was intense. SHOCK-HORROR intense! I honestly didn’t see that coming!

Fifty Shades of Grey is a real unique love story. Unique because it’s about Dominant-Submissive relationship. Christian has it all, the gorgeous looks, body and the gazillion money. But the only problem is that he has a dark past that made him a perv.. ahem.. no let’s just say.. different. And there is Anastasia who’s immediately captivated by this perfect guy because she consents to an insane contract. 

Honestly, this story started quite great. I was blown away by Christian’s aura the first time they met. But then they talk about the contract and I was like. “You’re kidding right??” No sane girl would agree to this. But nah! Anna just did. I was truly trying hard to like this. I was trying so hard to look for the romance element into it but I can’t. All I saw were two emotionally tortured souls who are frustrating me most of the time. I kept reading because I was actually hoping for the characters to change. It wasn’t bad alright. It’s one of those novels that you either hate or love. I’ve read erotica stories before so this genre is not new to me. But come freaking on!! Why do they have to be so REVOLTING?!! 

If you don't want to read some kind of a psycho freakshow erotica don't read this.  I think I have to disagree with some people who loved this book. Sorry. This book is not really for me. But I might read the next two books because my friends told me it gets better.


MY THOUGHTS POST-FIFTY SHADES FREED:

Yup. Read them all and I have no intention of making my review for the other two books. So I just have to say it here. Here’s what I found out: It wasn’t that bad. 

For what particular reason I really don’t know. But it could be because:

1. It ended quite well. I like HEAs

2. I became used to the constant repulsive scenes. And the character’s occasional sick decisions.

3. I honestly liked reading the emails. Cute.

4. Christian possessive/emotional/generous streak can be overwhelmingly sweet.

5. The characters changed. 

Christian is still fifty shades of fucked up but he’s fighting his demons with Anna by his side. And that’s good enough for me. 

Bottom line: It was okay. It’s different. And really brave to have ventured this kind of story. But still not for me. I still don’t like it. I say it’s a shame to read this story. But I perfectly understand if some girls love the trilogy. **winks**.. Anyway, I stand by my opinion, it isn’t worth all the hype it’s getting.

The Iron Knight by Julie Kagawa

The Iron Knight is my DREAM-COME-TRUE and my WISH-GRANTED! Boy! I was definitely surprised and delighted when I realized that what I'm reading is Ash's POV!!

Reading the last book was bittersweet. Their problems finally resolved and the Iron Realm is in the hands of the new Iron Queen, Meghan Chase. But one thing that left me in a state of utter disbelief is the tragic truth that there will never be a future for Meghan and Ash. So please bear with me and my slightly discombobulated thoughts because I just finished the book a minute ago and here I am making a review yet my mind is still trapped in Nevernever.




 I love Happily Ever Afters, especially one that is Ash-Tallyn related. I love him too much. Okay, I am not going to gush like a fangirl anymore because I tend to do that when it is about him. Let's talk about the plot. We all know that the Nevernever is in harmony after the epic battle but not quite right?



Being the queen of the Iron Kingdom means Meghan cannot be with Ash because just like any faery he cannot endure iron, for them it means death. So Ash embarks in an impossible quest to become mortal. He faces different obstacles and tests just to have the chance to be with her. Even if being human brings him weakness, conscience, and mortality. Then Ariella shockingly appears in front of them. Yes, I was shocked, didn't see that coming. My jaw dropped while reading that part. For I knew Ariella's unexpected return is a complication to their love story, Ash might waver and doubt his feelings for Meghan. But I admire him still, in the end he was able to make the right choice and prove that the one he truly love is Meghan. He's a true knight and shining armor. I felt it, his love, his effort, everything. I also salute the other characters. Puck for being the good friend. Despite his own loss, he learns to let go the person he loves for her happiness. Grimalkin for somehow being their genie in the bottle, always there to guide and help them in times of need. 




 I didn't expect so much from this. The other books in the series are probably better when it comes to the plot. The story was supposed to be a trilogy so I'm just thankful for this. The loose ends are tied and I was able to really know Ash, his thoughts, and his past, and his true feelings for Meghan. Reading the Iron Fey books for three consecutive days was an amazing experience. I loved it! And it'll surely be one of the series that I won't forget. Thank you Julie Kagawa for bringing such wonderful creations to the literary world!

First of all, I want to say that Julie Kagawa is my new favorite author! I love the way she writes, the 
way she always leaves me breathless, amazed, and satisfied. The third book in the Iron Fey Series is a great reading experience! If you think second book is awesome, you better read this because you might just change your mind!


Meghan and the fey world finally face the most dreaded war against the Iron Fey. To withstand them, they must join forces and do the most crucial sacrifices. I have to admire Meghan for her bravery as well as Ash for making me swoony everytime he utters cheesy lines and for being an amazing knight. It makes me want to have a knight of my own. As for Puck, I feel sorry for him because somehow I know that behind that teasing and happy-go-lucky facade is a heart breaking for the love he cannot have. The ending left me contented and emotional. I don't know why but it brought tears to my eyes, as in A-Walk-to-Remember-kind-of tears. 


It's really sad that Meghan cannot do anything to alter her fate, she has no choice but to accept it. Now I'm dying to read the fourth book because I know there'll be more surprises,especially after Ash says he will not give up Meghan, that he'll find a way for them to be together. Gosh! Ash Tallyn I wish you were real!!! No forget that, I wish I was Meghan!! She's lucky lucky girl!!


Well. I'm not a fangirl. But reading this.. I think I have to give an exception ^_^

 I ABSOLUTELY recommend this!!

Unearthly by Cynthia Hand

Unearthly undeniably surpassed my very low expectations.


 Being that it is one of those well-known Nephilim/Fallen angels novels like Hush Hush, or Fallen, I really thought my mind is very close to abandoning ship and fluttering away on its own because I'm getting tired of this concept and its popularity, as if it's the replacement to the vampire mania. But surprisingly, it's so much BETTER!




 One distinguishing factor that I like about the story is its originality. I like how the angels radiate their Glory, that they all have to fulfill their one purpose in life. And for the first time, the heroine, Clara becomes the powerful angel, and not some weakling who's only good at pining over a handsome guy. At first, I was frustrated because it's crystal clear that Christian is Clara's loveteam. He's the guy in her vision, the guy she's so obsessed with, and the guy she dreams of. That's why I thought that this would be the first time I would be siding with the other guy who's pathetically loving the girl who doesn't love him back. I was so distraught because Tucker is the right guy, and I can feel it...


 But luckily, I was right all along! Tucker is the one! I wanted to rejoice, to celebrate because he deserved it and he's such a great guy. I knew it, the first time he called her "Carrots," they'd be amazing, romantic, and inseparable! 


This is such a refreshing read that I became so excited for the next book. And I keep my fingers crossed that she still choose Tucker because she's having some issues and kind of getting confused.

City of Lost Souls by Cassandra Clare

Just when I thought I wouldn't like this any better than the previous book, I was so 
wrong. The much awaited fifth installment of is packed with awesome action and surprises. And let us not forget the romance, and well, the lost souls....




After the disappearance of Jace and Sebastian, The shadowhunters, Clary, Alec, Magnus, Isabelle, and Simon try to search for the whereabouts of the two. But things change when they discoaver that Sebastian did not just kidnap Jace. They are now bound to each other. And to destroy one of them means destroying the other. Together they must find a powerful weapon to sever the tie between the two before it's too late.






Actually, I was really bothered throughout the most part of this novel. Part of this is because of their somehow futile search for the weapon, and the other part is for Jace. He is not himself that is sure. But the way he is described in the story is like he's hopeless. That who he turned into is impossible to change. I felt it. I felt what Clary must have felt during those times. Because I know it's hard to be with someone you love who isn't what he used to be. You tell yourself that everything is fine but deep down you know it's not the same anymore. That's probably the reason why I thought the story would just be another not-good-enough story. Because I didn't like it that Jace has to always be the one possessed or the one who's not himself. He seems vulnerable that way. And fake by the way. But that disappointment was only short-lived because of how everything turned out.




I guess there were so many scenes that I like. The omniscient point of view helped a great deal in building up the hype. I am entertained by their conversations sometimes. I liked Simon. His personality makes the situation much lighter, like his SMURFS and Star Wars thingy. The other characters are also interesting, like Maia and Jordan, and Alec and Magnus although I'm not really a big fan of their relationship. And the ending, boy it was exactly what I've hoped for! It's incredible and made me wish to read the next book right away!


There's no surprise that Cassandra Clare again made a great shadowhunter novel. She has proven herself so many times. So now I'm waiting more from her.

The Iron Daughter by Julie Kagawa

FANTASTIC!! I was fascinated by the fey world the first time read about it, and now I'm

 loving it!

The second book of the Iron fey series is just as magical and engaging as the first book, and maybe even better!! After Meghan rescued Ethan and killed Machina, her journey has gotten more complicated. Unfortunately, the Iron fey has not ceased to exist but has only gained a new leader to rid the Nevernever of faeries. In the midst of this, the Scepter of the Seasons has been stolen causing a war between the Winter and the Summer Court. In order to end this fatal war, they must return the scepter to its rightful place. But doing so could mean imminent danger, death, and sacrifices.

This fantasy novel is an interesting read. I enjoyed every bit of it. I like the characters' personality, strength, and boldness. The romance is totally unbelievably amazing and riveting! The first part of the story broke my heart because of how impossible it is for Ash and Meghan to love each other. But I'm glad the ending stitched it back in place. Although, fate may have not favored them I admire their choices. I loved Ash for having the courage to admit his love for Meghan to the Queen, and I loved him even more when he'd rather be banished to the mortal world than forget her.

ASH, You're the Man!! 

I assure you the ending is a satisfiable one. There are so many questions in my mind after reading this. I want to know what will happen next right away so I'm definitely going to read the next book after making this review! I can't get enough of the fey world and the romance!!

Beautiful Disaster by Jamie McGuire

I've been looking for a great romance novel to delve myself into. So what I did was refer to the goodreads listopia of "Best Romance Novels of all Time." This book made it to the top spot at that time. Funny because I'm one of those hopeless romantic, and I have never heard of this one. So I read. It was great. Though somehow it does not deviate from the typical bad boy meets good girl love story I often encounter, surprisingly, I liked it.

What happens when bad boy meets good girl? Travis Maddox has a bad reputation. He's never befriended any girl, for him they're just I-won't-remember-your-name-tomorrow-one-night stands. But when he strikes up a strange friendship with Abby things got way out of hand. He falls in love for the one girl who's afraid to love him. This love story is one of those that you'd want to read about but don't want to experience. I mean all the arguments, problems and the love-hate thing going on between them is earth-shattering. One minute they're okay but the next, WORLD WAR!

Everyone couldn't get enough of this book.Travis. He may be mistaken as a gangster he could be so sweet! He does and says so many things that melts your heart. 

“I know we’re fucked up, all right? I’m impulsive, and hot-tempered, and you get under my skin like no one else. You act like you hate me one minute, and then you need me the next. I never get anything right, and I don’t deserve you…but I fucking love you, Abby. I love you more than I’ve loved anyone or anything, ever. When you’re around, I don’t need booze, or money, or the fighting, or the one-night stands…all I need is you. You’re all I think about. You’re all I dream about. You’re all I want.”  -Travis..

Abby is his exception, and he is hers. I love reading this book despite the emotional ride it gave me.Travis and Abby are a trainwreck. Their love story is a beautiful disaster. But I wouldn't love them any other way.

Obsidian by Jennifer Armentrout

Life can be tough when you're moving to a new place. But it's a whole lot tougher when there's a reason for it, when it entails moving on, and starting afresh.

Katy and her mom decides to move to Virginia to start a new life, to leave Florida where memories of her dead father linger. New home, new friends, new school, Katy sure needs to come out of her shell to survive it all. But when she finally makes an effort by introducing herself to the neighbor. She comes face-to-face with Daemon, a gorgeous boy who has a whoa-oooh-la-la-perfection-all-over-boy-next-door-thing going on ( Well, it's hard not to gush when he was incredibly described in the story.) She finds out that he clearly wants to let her know he dislikes her, wants her to stay out of his life, which is impossible because she immediately struck out a friendship with his sister, Dee. For whatever reason, she is considered a threat, a liability. Then everything becomes clearer but definitely more complicated and out of hand after she discovers what they truly are..

A-L-I-E-N-S...

Yup. Aliens.  That good-looking boy together with his equally good-looking sister is an alien! And there are hundreds of them on earth! I totally agree with Kat for the absurdity of it all. “Aliens—if they exist—are little green men with big eyes and spindly arms or…or giant insects or something like a lumpy little creature.” They came from a faraway planet called "Lux," and they're called "Luxen" which means "light" because of their incredible powers that I do not want to spoil. :)

I admit the first part of the story reminds me so much of twilight. But I have to say it turned out to be new, and unique. I liked that it introduced aliens in a different way. The characters are adorable. Katy is not just some damsel in distress but a fearless girl in the face of adversity. She loves books and blogs about them which makes her more admirable for me. And all the bonus points for Daemon because he's amazing. Every conversation or the love-hate thing they have is fascinating. I enjoyed every bit of them anatagonizing and teasing each other. It's great reading how their romance unfolds.

Obsidian by Jennifer Armentrout is a worthwhile read. It's perfect if you're looking for an interesting, and relaxing YA paranormal with enough action and romance. I'd recommend this to people who are fans of the genre.

The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin

This book plunged my mind into a whirlwind of thoughts, and almost drove me mad. Its sheer awesomeness  is great as it is intriguing and disturbing. The mere unpredictaility of it all  drew me in. I was amazed for very few books made me feel that way. 


My usually placid mind was filled with questions of what is really behind the death of so many people or what are they're up against. Did some unfortunate events caused the deaths? Are they up against something otherworldly like the ghosts of her friends? Or is it Mara herself who caused havoc? How does the Palmer trial fits into the bigger picture? 


I was constantly guessing, making asumptions, and predictions because to say that the plot is inexplicably bothering me was an understatement. But the conflict is not the only thing that kept me awake at night. The romance between Mara and Noah made me giddy to the core. I'd give Noah all the swoons in the world for his panty-dropping looks, for making Mara feel special, for protecting her, and for his perfection. It's good that the ending was a sigh of relief but at the same time it left me breathless. 


I wanted to read the second book right away. I still wanted to continue reading the author's engaging storytelling. So let me give Michelle Hodkin the praise she deserves for coming up with a phenomenal mystery thriller that will captivate you until the very end.

Thoughtless by S.C. Stephens

This is probably one of the most convoluted, twisted, passionate and craziest love affair I've read in my entire life. I'm fascinated reading about love triangles, but this one sure made me experience the roller coaster of emotions I rarely felt in romance novels. I felt giddiness, happiness, sorrow, regret, guilt, disgust, anger, and an unbearable ache for the characters.

The plot:

Kiera has the perfect boyfriend. Denny is handsome, intelligent, hardworking, sweet, and loves her with all his heart. So when Denny is offered a job opportunity in Seattle, she didn't hesitate to move in with him. Who wouldn't?... But the complication of all complications came because of Kellan Kyle, Denny's long time friend and their new roommate. One look at him would make you think perfection, absurdly gorgeous face, perfectly toned muscle, and a voice to die for. He's in a band and fans literally screamed at the top of their lungs and drooled by the mere sight of him. Having the best boyfriend she could possibly ask for, would it be possible for Kiera to be immune of Kellan's charms?

Well, she isn't! She gets herself involved in a threesome. I admit I hated her for the most part of the book. I want so bad to make her see reason, to make up her mind, to stop breaking the hearts of two incredible guys. I understand her inner turmoil, why she can't break up with Denny despite the fact that she clearly loves Kellan. But I'm just so mad at her for taking that long to figure everything out.

I felt sorriest for Denny. He's just too good to have a cheating girlfriend. I felt guilty while reading even though I was not the one hurting him. After knowing the truth between Kiera and Kellan, I somehow understood his violent reaction more than Kiera's unfairness and indecisiveness. I understood how betrayed he must've felt. He trusted her, gave her the pedestal that he never imagined she'd one day lose her love for him. It aches to see him endure the pain and forgive after everything else.

As for Kellan, I have to say that he's one of the few reasons why I managed to get through the nerve-wracking story. Besides being effortlessly the hottie drop dead gorgeous, he could be sweet, and funny. He's so great I always find myself wanting to rip him off the pages and make him real. He's a Casanova, rooting from is unpleasant childhood- devoid of love from his parents. But he changed a lot when he met Kiera. Behind the cool and easy facade, is a man capable of loving. I sympathized with him because he cannot have the only girl he ever truly loved. Every tear he shed is heart breaking I wanted to ease the pain.

There were so many scenes that I think is not really intended for readers my age. So many times I wanted to crawl inside the book and tell the characters what to do because they can't seem to make rational decisions. But just WOW! I didn't mind and kept my eyes glued to their story. This is not flawless, nor an amazing read. I weighed the pros and cons so I know this book is worth it! I loved their romance, and I’m wanting more of it!  I’m so glad there’s a sequel. And I can’t wait to know what happens to Kiera and Kellan!

"A million ways to die. One way to live."


Veronica Rossi's debut novel "Under the Never Sky" is one amazingly exciting dystopian fiction that would surely leave you wanting for more. 


One of the things I love about dystopian novels is the way a whole new world is introduced but at the same time, it does not feel so out-of-reach because yeah! we're  talking about post-apocalyptic time, Hello future! So i'm glad to say that this one is a cool new society. 


From the very beginning, I became so fascinated by the Realm. There's no pain, no risk, no problem in this society. They have their smarteyes that could take them wherever they want whenever they want. Their life is the literal definition of aversion to the dark realities people often face. It may seem like the an incredible utopia, but a closer look would make you see otherwise.


 The heroine, Aria is very likeable as well as Peregrine a.k.a. "Perry." He has this spirit in him that never gives up, fights for what he believes in, and protects the ones he love. The ending, however, was the kind of cliffhanger I didn't want to read about. I was dumbfounded when my eyes caught the acknowledgement part because I was expecting and wanting it to be more. Well, I cannot tell details any more than I want to because that would spoil the story. So let me just tell you that this is a worthwhile read, I enjoyed every bit of it. My eager hands can't wait to grasp the next book!

City of Fallen Angels by Cassandra Clare

The fourth installment of the Mortal Instruments Series is, as expected, an exciting and praise-worthy one, typical of a Cassandra Clare novel.  

With Valentine dead and gone, the story turned into a new chapter.  what's going to happen next. New conflict, new villain, new allies, and probably more to come! 
Though, I STILL feel that City of Glass is better and more epic than this one, I'm glad it ended quite well. 

After the last scene, I thought "Not Again!" The ill-fated lovers, Jace and Clary, suffering another we-cannot-be-together-even-though-we're-madly-in-love problem. Their love story is so depressing.  Yeah. "To love is to destroy," 
I really hope that they'll prove everyone wrong. I admit I was a little bit disappointed in Jace's character development in this installment, because after everything else, he's become weak and vulnerable. But couldn't blame him either because as much as he feels that Clary's the best thing that's ever happened to him, he's also afraid of losing her.

I would probably mention how I liked that Simon has more appearance in this book than the previous ones. Reading his point of view is entertaining and interesting, sometimes I couldn't help but crack at his bland humor. It's hilarious to read about his own two-timing love story. Good to see some normalcy in him despite his being a vampire.

After reading 4 books of the series, I do and honestly feel like it could have ended as a trilogy with City of Glass, as this one's veering off to a totally different plot and conflict. But who wants that right? We want more of Shadowhunters! Can't wait for City of Lost Souls!

I give this 4/5 stars!

Rules of Attraction by Simone Elkeles

Simone Elkeles did it again! At first I doubted if she could outstand or at least equal the interest I had while reading Perfect Chemistry, but boy! I think I’m lovin’ some gorgeous Spanish-speakin’ gangsters! The books definitely gave them the good reputation.  Alex Fuentes made me realize that unlike from what we often see in movies, they have a heart, are capable of loving and they could be great protagonists! He’s my favorite gangster! But then Carlos came...


 I laughed everytime his sarcasm and bland rudeness show. I don’t know why but I like him more because of that. He’s not just a smart-ass thug but he could be interesting at times. I am also pleased at Kiara’s personality; she’s simple and doesn’t try too hard to be beautiful.  I really felt Carlos’s true feelings because even though he doesn’t admit it, he only has his eyes for Kiara despite the girls swooning over him. I should probably mention how glad I am of Alex’s and Brittany’s appearance in the book. I finally got a glimpse of how their relationship survived for so long because all I got from the previous book was the twenty-three-years-later epilogue that didn’t even include them. Although it’s easy to tell that this novel has not-too-complicated conflicts and lacks the dramatic impact compared to the first book, it’s still worth it because it has so much to offer. Rules of Attraction has lovable characters, an amazing plot, and a fascinating romance just as I wanted it. I can’t seem to forget how good they are together with their serious, monogamous, committed relationship!

Ugh..Why am I so giddy? Oh. right… I remember, Alex and Carlos… ^_^
 So Luis? Definitely excited to know more about you in the third book! 

Pandemonium by Lauren Oliver

I'm so proud to say that Lauren Oliver is one of the most talented authors! Her writing is pure, heartfelt and awesome!




I admit I was sort of disappointed reading the first few pages because nothing important is happening, I got so irritated with the shifting in time. But give it about 100 pages and the story gets better and turns into something exciting! 


I liked how the plot changed but in a good sense. And of course I liked Julian, somehow I understand what he's going through and how he's very much like what Lena used to be. I'm starting to like him for her.
 But then there's ALEX....  Every time Lena and Julian start to show their feelings to each other I think "Awwww!! they're so sweet! but no. no. no. no. no BIG NO! You love Alex remember? Don't let yourself get confused!" I don't know what to think anymore!


The ENDING... it's the ending I didn't want to read... because I was left hanging, thinking, speculating, fearing what will happen next. I just can't believe it has to end that way. Oliver sure knows how to make a cliffhanger! 

Where She Went by Gayle Forman

A lot of reviewers preferred this more than the first book, If I Stay, so now I know why.


 It may be because it gives justice to the love story everyone's been waiting for. But no matter how i look at it i still think that the first book is way better. Where she went is told from the point of view of Adam after Mia's miraculous recovery from her coma. So i know girls would like to know what goes inside the mind of the oh-so-cool-emo-rockstar Adam Wilde. 


As expected, Gayle Forman's writing didn't fail to capture the hearts of the readers. We witness how Adam reaches the peak of his career and at the same time how his interest in it plummets down. It is heartbreaking to see Adam wallow in misery of letting Mia go when they took their separate ways, as if she is all he's ever wanted in his life. However, the story lost its spark after this. Gone were the scenes that almost made me cry and made me rethink my life. Replaced by the scenes of how a rockstar led a crappy life and my hatred for the girl who left him out of the blue. So what happened? It's probably because the story focuses more on  the love between Mia and Adam. I mean there's not much to write about because her family is already gone. I'm not against their love, actually, I was kind of glued to them, my heart flutters with Mia while reading if I Stay. But what i didn't like is how the story unfolds, there's not much conflict. You'll sympathize with Adam but that's just it. They were both just reluctant to admit that they love each other no matter what the circumstances are. 


Well, I must say the sequel is good in its own way and didn't disappoint me because I didn't expect it to have a part 2. After Mia squeezed Adam's hand, I just assumed that they'd live happily ever after. So I didn't expect anything. But hey, a closure to their love story is better than an open ending.
